Assorted Financial Documents
A group of 13 assorted financial documents ranging from the late 16th century to the mid-19th century. The documents include receipts, orders of payment, and letters.

Included in the group is a bill for a gold ring (1593), a tithe receipt for 11s.1d to Sir John Petre (1594), a signature of Sir Gilbert Heathcote for £26960 to go to the General Society trading to the East Indies, a letter (1675) to Brian Fairfax containing a voucher for £500 from Stephen Monteage, which has been cut-out, a receipt to the exchequer for £54,324.3s.5½d, part of a £2 million fund for the 1781 Bank Charter Act, signed by Abraham Newland, a letter (1681) to Sir John Moore (Lord Mayor of London 1681-82) from Henry Pight discussing the "Committee of the African Company", a letter (1715) to Lady Francis Wrottesley (née Grey) on Pall Mall from William Robert, a warrant (1760) for the payment of £26,671.17s.6d taken from the £2 million raised by the lottery, a certificate assigning a payment order (1700) to the Earl Ranelagh, a receipt (1819) for the payment of £36 to Francis Dickens, a note titled Royal Exchange (1825) outlining the cost of shares, and an English Loan from 1809 from Messrs Baring, J.J. Angerstein and others.
