a) Charles II (1660-1685), Halfcrown, 1671 VICESIMO TERTIO, third laureate and draped bust variety right, rev. no stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, ten strings to harp, edge lettered upwards, 14.491g, 6h (BM 2023T1187.001 this coin; ESC 468; Bull 457; S.3366), light rim scuff at 10 o'clock, with mottled field patina overlying residually lustrous and original surfaces, a pleasing very fine
b) Charles II (1660-1685), Halfcrown, 1671 VICESIMO TERTIO, third laureate and draped bust variety right, rev. no stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, ten strings to harp, edge lettered downwards, 14.748g, 6h (BM 2023T1187.002 this coin; ESC 468; Bull 457; S.3366), light surface friction to hair, and with mottled field patina overlying lustrous and original surfaces, a pleasing very fine
c) Charles II (1660-1685), Halfcrown, 1679 TRICESIMO PRIMO, fourth laureate and draped bust right, rev. stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, edge lettering spaced irregularly and upwards, 14.504g, 6h (BM 2023T1187.003 this coin; ESC 481; Bull 480; S.3367), mottled field patina overlying residually lustrous and original fields, about very fine
d) Charles II (1660-1685), Crown, 1681 TRICESIMO TERTIO, fourth laureate and draped bust right, plain below truncation, rev. no stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, eight strings to harp, edge lettering spaced irregularly and upwards, 29.542g, 6h (BM 2023T1187.004 this coin; ESC 64; Bull 414; S.3359), unfortunate extraction scuffs below chin, and at base of truncation to edge, otherwise with light field patina and flecking overlying lustrous and original fields, an imposing and bolder very fine for strike
e) Charles II (1660-1685), Halfcrown, 1683 TRICESIMO QVINTO, fourth laureate and draped bust right, rev. stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, edge lettering spaced irregularly and upwards, 14.775g, 6h (BM 2023T1187.005 this coin; ESC 490; Bull 497; S.3367), a most unfortunate ancient scuff across portrait, otherwise splendidly sharp and lustrous, about extremely fine for strike, rare in this exemplary albeit problematic condition
f) James II (1685-1688), Crown, 1686 SECVNDO, stops in legend, first laureate and draped bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, five strings to harp, edge lettered downwards, 29.593g, 6h (BM 2023T1187.006 this coin; Pywell-Phillips 116; ESC 76; Bull 740 [R2]; S.3406), adjustment marks to French shield and with corresponding weakness to hair, otherwise mottled field tone overlying lustrous original surfaces, a pleasingly good very fine, scarce, especially so as a contextualised hoard specimen (6)
