The First Known Letter Individually Rated by Two Postal Services
1600 (26 March) entire letter from Hamburg to Corsini in London with Thurn and Taxis manuscript charge "on 7½" which was applied in Hamburg for carriage to Amsterdam, alongside London Merchant Adventurers manuscript "6d" charge, further marked "Van Hollant", and with "15" waybill number on reverse alongside intact seal of Martinno Enzesperger. Fine and very rare, there being only two other recorded covers in the Corsini correspondence bearing two different postal system's charges. An important and remarkable item.
