A collection of Railway Letter stamps and Parcel stamps including Railway Letters stamps: Barry 1896 2d. light green, fourth printing, a complete sheet of twelve, controls "2669-2680" unused, printing 4 (2), printing 5 (3), printing 6 used, printing 7, printing 9 used (3) and the scarce 1920 4d. green pair and single part to large part original gum; Neath and Brecon 1891 2d. (4) including a corner pair, 1901 2d. yellowish green in a complete sheet of twelve, unmounted mint. Also 1897 2d. yellowish green in a sheet of twelve (split into two blocks) large part original gum (vertical crease), large issues in singles and pairs including 1901 black-green (4), one with cracked plate variety, 1901 with imperforate proof, 1902 with imperforate proof, 1903 imperforate including a corner strip of three pen cancelled, 1920 3d. "011" with margins above and below, 1922 4d. "096"; North Pembrokeshire and Fishguard 1898 2d. bluish green singles (2) and pair part to large part original gum; Pembroke and Tenby 1891 2d, yellowish green "233" cancelled by ink cross and a small part of duplex postmark; a couple of tiny imperfections, rare. Only four stamps recorded, two being used. Also 1892 2d. bluish green "1555" showing partial offset on reverse and "1972"; Port Talbot and Docks 1901 2d. bluish green (9) including a block of four and pair from the same sheet, overprinted issues with 2d. single and block of four, 3d. single and block of four, manuscript "4" on 3d. and 4d. singles (20 and pairs (2); Rhymney first issue unused singles (2) and pair plus used (2). second issued unused "1688", 3d. "302" and handstruck "4" in blue on 3d. "1180". Also Parcel Stamps: Barry 1895 1d. black (2), 2d. black on blue (2), 3d. black on rose single and pair; also 1900 One Newspaper black on yellow (2); most are large part original gum; Brecon and Merthyr large design 3d. "At Owner's Risk" below (small faults), 1903 unnumbered ½d., 1d. and 2d. plus numbered ½d. on blue-green and bright blue, 1d. and 2d. (2); Cambrian 1895 roulette ½d. black on rose horizontal pair from top margin (one with small fault) large part original gum and 1896 1d. At Owner's Risk (split and affixed to part order form); Corris 1895 collection with ½d. variety imperforate between horizontal pair (2 pairs), 1d. pairs (2) and block of six, 2d. single, pair and block of six (2); also unnumbered proofs with ½d., 1d. (2) and 2d.; Pembroke and Tenby 1866 one newspaper unused (8) including a block of four, two newspapers (6) including a block of four; 1890 without control numbers 1d. and 2d.; with control numbers 1d. (8), 2d. (5) and 3d. (5); Sirhowy 1868 Prepaid News Parcel, a duplicated group of unused with 1d. black on white (2), 2d. black on rose (2) and 3d. black on blue (3), part to large part original gum; Wrexham, Mold & Connar's Quay One Newspaper black on yellow part original gum, 1d. and 2d. green mint. Good examples of this short-lived issue before the company went insolvent c. 1905. Also Wirral with 1906 1d. black on yellow mint (2) one with enormous corner margins, and 1910 2d. red Special Stamp with control "1077". Mixed condition in places as to be expected though generally fine and an impressive collection with many important pieces.
