1828-70, a group of underpaid covers (22) including 1828 "Money Letter" from Frankford to Dublin bearing a good strike of boxed "more/+to+/pay" in red; 1845 (Feb.) wrapper from Plymouth to London with 1d. tied by "620" numeral with "more/to/pay" in double circle and manuscript "2d"; 1845 (13 March) large wrapper from Bath to London bearing 1841 2d. horizontal strip of three tied by barred numerals, marked "above 3oz", charged "4/8" and struck with double ring "more/to/pay"; 1846 (June) envelope from Weymouth to London bearing 1d. tied by "873" with the double-circle More to Pay and manuscript "2" with initials alongside, the envelope opens to show printed advertisement for Lithographic Printing Office, 276 Strand; 1846 (Nov.) wrapper from London to Glasgow with 1d. tied by London "1" and straight-line "Cornhill" in red, two strikes of the single-circle "more/to/pay", the flap with fancy "too late" with London, Edinburgh and Glasgow datestamps; 1847 (Nov.) from Lynn to Stockton bearing 1d. two different strikes of More to Pay, handstruck "2" and Lynn despatch c.d.s.; 1856 wrapper from London to Paris bearing 1855-57 4d. Small Garter pair and marked "insufficiently/prepaid"; 1858 wrapper from London to Hamburg bearing 1855-57 4d. pair with a fine strike of "part-paid/more to pay"; 1860 (2 Feb.) entire to Kendal bearing 1856-58 2d. blue, perf. 16, Plate 6 DE, DF marked "above 2oz" and with manuscript charge "4" and "fee To"1860 (Aug.) commercial Penny Pink envelope from London to Aberdeen with fine strikes of the despatch duplex, single-circle "more to/s./pay" and handstruck "2"; 1864 (Oct.) part Star Life printed letter from Budleigh Salterton to London bearing circular "more to pay/a to l" and manuscript "Ov ½oz"; 1870 envelope from London to Haverfordwest with single-circle "more/to/pay" and manuscript "2". Imperforates generally good to fine with four margins just touching in places, a good collection.
