1871 (11 Oct.) long envelope registered to Whitby bearing ½d. plate 5 and 1d. plate 138 (5), each cancelled by fine strikes of the "683/E" in small double circle (no central dots) with Salisbury c.d.s. alongside plus London registered oval. A superb example of this experimental postmark. Photo
