1898 (21 Mar.) a fine example of the "england" flag tying 1d. lilac on piece; very rare. This was used on the last of the four days this was used and this machine was only employed for one hour each day. One of the five examples recorded. Also proof copies of the "victoria" flag (without the datestamp) struck in violet, four strikes on one piece and one on a second. Only these trial proofs are known, very few have been recorded, all are in violet. Photo
