British West Charterland Expedition: 1897 (22 Dec.) long envelope to London bearing 1891-1904 6d. vertical pair tied by light strikes of "676" barred oval with a good strike of "palachwe/khamas town" c.d.s. alongside, the reverse with Brockley squared circle arrival c.d.s. (14.1) and manuscript "Extracts from Major Lugards reports"; two vertical folds at centre and left. Written by Dr Spon who was the medical officer who accompanied Major Frederick Lugard's expedition to Ngamiland on behalf of the 'British West Charterland Ltd.' Also a group of adhesives bearing Palachwe postmarks
