A collection of unadopted Euro Banknote designs, [14 sheets] 1996, designs for 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 & 500 Euros,

Designed by Colin Braun as a participant in the Euro Banknote Design Competition, in anticipation of the first 2002 issue. Braun was one of 29 individuals or teams selected to propose designs for the first issue of Euro banknotes. Braun's "Série No. 15" was ultimately rejected in favour of Robert Kalina's now-iconic designs, but his beautiful proposals encapsulate brilliantly the initial brief of "Through the Ages".

[2 notes] 50 Euros, featuring portrait of a tailor by Giovanni Battista Moroni and Donato Bramante's Tempietto, Rome (two notes mounted on white card)
[4 notes] 100 Euros, featuring portrait by Jan de Bray and façade of Dreifaltigkeitskirche, Munich (two notes unmounted, two mounted on white card)
[2 notes] 200 Euros, featuring portrait of Monsieur de Pachtere by Edouard Agneesens and detail from Viennese staircase (two notes mounted on white card)
[2 notes] 500 Euros, portrait of Tony van Eyck and Lawn Tennis Club, Dublin (two notes mounted on white card)
