(x) Hudson’s Bay Company, Canada, Remainder Five Shillings Sterling, York Factory, 1st June 1821, serial numbers 618 and 118,

An exceptionally important survivor from the early shipments of Hudson’s Bay Company paper currency sent to York Factory for intended use in Rupert’s Land. Prepared in London on 11th May 1820 with serial number 618, and carrying the York Factory date of 1st June 1821, serial number 118. With counterfoil; signed by Wm. Smith, Secretary, and Wm. Williams, Governor, and entered by John Spencer. The Accountant’s signature required for issue is absent.
