Iron Age Britain, Catuvellauni, Cunobelin (AD 9-40), AV Stater, 'Wild A' Series, Camulodunum (Colchester), corn ear without central stalk, CA to left, MV to right, three pellet privy marks in field, rev. horse right, dashes for mane, star and branch above, CVNO below, 5.549g [85.63grns], 2h (VA 1931 variety; BMC 1794; Mack 211; S.285; cf. ABC 2777), minor striking fissures and a scuff to corn ear, otherwise a deeply struck and remarkably bold specimen with excellent definition on horse and highly crisp lettering, with rose gold lustre, a really pleasingly bold very fine
