(x) Edward III (1327-1377), Transitional Treaty Period, Quarter-Noble, 1361-1363, Tower (London), + EDWR 'x R ': ANGLIE : 7 : DNVS 'x hY, saltire stops, unbarred Roman Ns, Royal shield set with semé of three fleurs in first quarter, inside double-tressure of eight arches, pellets on cusps, rev. + EXALTABITVR : IN : GLORIA : double saltire stops, Roman N, floriate cross, with extra fronds on stems, leopards in angles, pellet in spandrels, large pellet and voided quadrilobe at centre, 1.891g [29.18grns], 2h, m.m. cross pattée (Lawrence a/5; Doubleday 191 same obverse die; Schneider I, 67-68 same obverse die; North 1224(i); S.1501), lightly creased and straightened, otherwise a pleasingly bold example for type, better than very fine
