Air Force Medal, G.VI.R. (1600779. F/Sgt C. Macey. R.A.F.), mounted upon original investiture pin, good very fine

A.F.M. London Gazette 13 June 1946. The original recommendation states:

'This airman has been engaged as a pilot on the Air Delivery Letter Service since September, 1944. He has, throughout that period, set a fine example by his enthusiasm, determination and devotion to duty.'

Charles Macey lived at 4, The Pillions, Hayes End Road, Hayes, Middlesex at the time of him being sent his award in the post in July 1947.

Sold with Buckingham Palace slip and letter from the Record Office, R.A.F. Gloucester, dated 18 July 1947.
