Col. R. F. [sic] Tyers. I.A.), 2nd clasp secured by wire, mounted as originally worn, light contact marks, therefore nearly very fine (7)
Ronald Francis Tyers Tyers was born at Guildford, Surrey on 11 November 1916, the son of Colin Seymour Francis Tyers Tyers Capt. RN.
He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Indian Army in August 1936. He served with the Scinde Horse on the North West Frontier, and during the Second War. Tyers was advanced to Captain in August 1944. He qualified for his S E Asia clasp whilst employed at HQ, 23rd Indian Division.
He transferred to the 14/20th Hussars, R.A.C., in November 1947 and was advanced to temporary Lieutenant-Colonel in August 1949, serving with the 7th Gurkha Rifles from February 1952. Tyers retired with the rank of Major in April 1958; sold together with copied research.
