Naval General Service 1915-62, 1 clasp, B. & M. Clearance Mediterranean (P/J. 936729 D. G. Best. Ord. R.N.), contact marks, minor official correction to number, good very fine

Only 60 clasps were issued to members of the Royal Navy, with qualifying service being a minimum of six months' active involvement in bomb and mine clearance. The majority of this work centred around Malta and, in particular, the main harbour of Valetta, where large quantities of bombs were recovered from a number of merchant vessels that had been sunk by air attack during the Second World War.
