Baltic 1854-55 (G. Gasson, Rl. Sappers & Miners), officially impressed naming, good very fine and scarce

Ex-Strong Collection.

The only Baltic medals to the British Army were those issued to the Royal Engineers and Royal Sappers & Miners. Although no medal roll survives approximately 106 Medals are thought to have been issued with officially impressed naming.

George Gasson was a brickmaker with No. 2 Company, Sappers and Miners. After participating in the operations in the Baltic, died of sickness in camp before Sebastopol on 26 November 1855; sold together with copied research.
