Bank of England, G. E. A. Kentfield, [2 notes] £10, £50, 1992-4, FIRSTS serial numbers A01 000908,
In 1988, the Bank of England announced a new series of banknotes to be introduced in 1990 and 1994. Designed by Roger Withington, the notes would feature a new portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II, along with historical figures on the reverse. The notes presented here were originally owned by an employee involved in printing the new series and have since been passed down to his son. For the first time, these low serial number Kentfield £10 and £50 notes are being brought to market. Though this serial number is lower than the range covered by EPM C117, it was possible for employees to request lower serial numbers for these specific notes, which we believe is what happened in this case. This lot also includes the original Debden Security Printing Limited invoice receipt for the original ownership, not pictured in catalogue,

(EPM C117), about uncirculated, handling creases on £50 note (2 notes)
