Bank of England, G. E. A. Kentfield, £50, 1994, first run serial number A01 001801,
In 1988, the Bank of England announced a new series of banknotes to be introduced in 1990 and 1994. Designed by Roger Withington, the notes would feature a new portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II, along with historical figures on the reverse. The note presented here was originally owned by an employee involved in printing the new series and has since been passed down to his son. For the first time, this low serial number Kentfield £50 note is being brought to market. Though this serial number is lower than the range covered by EPM C117, it was possible for employees to request lower serial numbers for these specific notes, which we believe is what happened in this case,

(EPM C117 for type), uncirculated
