Royal Humane Society, bronze, small unsuccessful type II (Martin E. Alford. 3rd Aug. 1931.), good very fine

Awarded as per Case No. 50989, also with C. R. Browne, for a rescue at Shaldon, Teignbridge, south Devon. Alford was a solicitor who lived at Castle House, Exeter and attempted to go to the assistance of 19 year old Wilfred Soloman, who lost his life bathing at Beedle Head, Ness Cove on the August Bank Holiday 1931.
