'At 11.30 p.m. on the 4th April, 1906, a man was accidentally knocked overboard from the British India S.N. Co's s.s. Libenghala, in Coconada Roads, India, the night being dark and the sea rough. Thomas S. Beedle, Third Officer on the steamer, jumped in and, at great risk, succeeded in saving him.'
