1876 (20 Oct.) envelope to Brighton, marked "Via Southampton", bearing 1867-72 12c. blue vertical pair placed sideways, tied by pen stroke and sharing clear "B/147" obliterator, showing good to fine "laroot" (Type D1, earliest recorded date) despatch c.d.s. and poor Penang transit d.s., both in red, with arrival datestamp (30.11) on reverse; the envelope a touch soiled. The earliest cover recorded from Perak. A highly important and exhibition item. Photo
