1900 (20 Oct.) stampless cover to Fort Steele from Lt.-Col S.B. Steele, c/o of "Strathcona's Horse" bearing a fine strike of Army P.O. 55 in blue (Pretoria) and Canadian Contingent dated oval type II (31.10) in purple with Fort Steele arrival c.d.s. (1.12) on the reverse. Also a fine example of W.G. Gage's patriotic postcard of Lt.-Col. Steele in blue on pink stock (Rowe 54-15B) used from Toronto to Athens, these envelopes are scarce used.
