1883 (13 June) mourning envelope addressed to London bearing a neat strike of "kiukiang customs/mail matter" handstamp (partly over the black border) with France Peace and Commerce 25c. tied by "shang-hai/chine" (15.6) c.d.s. with a further strike alongside. The reverse bearing a fair strike of "customs/kiukiang" despatch c.d.s. in red, a fair strike of Customs Shanghai (15.6) and London arrival datestamps. There is some minor edge wear at top right not effecting the adhesive otherwise fine and a scarce example of Customs Employee's mail privilege. Photo
