Alderney: 1848 (June) entire to London bearing 1841-53 1d. red-brown (TC), cut into at foot and right, tied by '965' barred numeral of Alderney with superb strike of the rare double arc undated Alderney handstamp in black; the reverse with Guernsey and London d.s. for 22.06 and 23.06. Entire with some reinforced tears otherwise fine and a wonderful, early example of this rare handstamp.
