1841 notice issued by E.S. Lees, Secretary of the G.P.O. at Edinburgh "To all Postmasters, Sub-Postmasters, and Letter Receivers." announcing the issue of the new 1d. and 2d. stamps, in addition to stamped postal stationery envelopes; the notice printed over two sides, the left hand side bearing 1841-53 1d. red-brown, lettered FA, clear margins, just touching at lower left corner, the right side with 1841 2d. blue with void corner trial from the upper right of the setting, both sides with 1d. pink stationery envelope overprinted "specimen" in red, one in the smaller size, the other larger. Complete with the original O.H.M.S. covering wrapper. Some splitting along folds otherwise fine. A rare and important notice, folding out well for display. Also unfolded 1d. pink lettersheet overprinted "specimen." with silk threads. Spec. PN8, £7,000
