1866-97 Postal History collection (58) written up on Frank Godden album pages including 1857 mourning ship letter from Cape Town to Bedford with endorsement in manuscript 'Per Steamer Spartan' and with 'Paid P' and '6d.' in manuscript, also a group all franked 4d. blue (11, with a variety of cancellations and markings), 1881 envelope to Yorkshire bearing 6d. deep lilac, 1869 front bearing 4d. on 6d. deep lilac, 1878 envelope to Yorkshire bearing 1d. (2) and 4d. cancelled by the large Triangular obliterator (late use), four covers bearing 1880 '3' on 3d., six covers all bearing 1881 3d. claret, one re-directed and bearing 3d. (2), 1884 envelope to Germany bearing ½d., 1d., 2d. and 4d. tied by 'kimberley' squared-circle, 1887 mourning cover from Emgwali to Scotland bearing 6d. purple, 1893 1d. Cape postal stationery envelope uprated with ½d., 1d. and 2½d. to Holland all tied 'schmidts drift' c.d.s., a further group to various overseas destinations including Italy, Germany and USA, and some re-directed covers including two ex the same correspondence to London and re-directed to Italy and within London respectively, other covers and cards with various frankings and markings, including BONC proving covers, octagonal numeral datestamp '51' cancelling eight covers, etc.; good to fine, a lovely lot
