1912 (9 Jan.) red band cover from the Diers correspondence registered to Shanghai "Via Calcutta", sent from Lhasa but with no Chinese stamps applied (either not available or carried privately), bears India K.E.VII ½a. pair and 2a. tied by "gyantse tibet/via siliguri" type B1 c.d.s. with further strikes alongside, registered handstamp type GA applied on label and numbered "154" and with British Post Office Shanghai registered oval (11.2). An interesting cover from this important correspondence during these changing times. Photo
