1841 (July) letter from the King of Nepal to the Lhasa Ambans which includes, "Our representative in Calcutta has informed us that in the second round of war, British has captures six forts in Kwangtung (Tigris, Chenupe, Bathang, Bag, Tyakakakoto and Yangchow). Really it is a very sad news for us. We don't take the news and rumour, whatever we have heard right or wrong we inform you. Please let us know the exact position. We mean to say that it will be a great pleasure for us that China is on the victory side". An interesting letter relating to the First Opium War
