Invasion of Taklakot
1855 shirt letter from Nirpon and Darpon of Taklakot to General and army officers at Jumla in Nepal, the letter translates , "Officers from Taklakot and Lama of the monastery reported in April that there was a dispute with Gurkhas over trade matters. We instructed them to act as per the Treaty between Nepal and Tibet but Taklakot was invaded and plundered without any reasons. We strongly warn you that this land belongs to the Emperor (China) - we are subject of Emperor - the property is under Emperor's protection. You have to all the three (land, people, property) intact, otherwise we will have to take use of force". The letter is closed by a small black seal (16x16 mm) with two lines of an unusual script and the outside with a small circular seal (11mm) which appear to be of a Chinese nature. Little is recorded of this incident.
