Charles I (1625-1649), Shillings, Tower (under King) (5), Group A, 1625-1626, second Coronation bust left, XII behind, rev. square-topped shield of arms long cross fourchée, 1h, m.m lys (Brooker 385-389; North 2216; S.2782)< soft to visage otherwise uniform for strike, nicely toned on a carefully prepared flan, a pleasingly bold fine; another, Group B, Type 1a, 1626-1627, second bust, 4h, m.m. castle (Brooker 418-419; North 2218; S.2784), rubbed, fine or near so, a scarcer pyx mark for this reign; also, Group C, Type 2a, 1630-1631, third bust, rev. oval garnished shield, dividing C-R above, 7h, m.m. plume (Brooker 445-455; North 2221; S.2787), rubbed smooth, good to fair; also, Group D (2), Type 3¹, 1632-1633, fourth bust, wearing falling lace collar, XII behind, rev. oval-garnished shield dividing C-R at sides, 2h, m.m. portcullis (Brooker 484; North 2223; S.2789), a pleasing example, lightly toned, very fine or better; another, Type 3a, 1634-1635, no inner circles, rev. oval-garnished shield, 3h, m.m tun (Brooker 507-508; North 2225; S.2791), lightly cabinet toned with residual lustre and colour in recesses, a really good fine (5)
