Ireland, Great Rebellion, Issues of the Confederated Catholics, Kilkenny Money, Halfpennies (3), 1642-1643, the first on a rectangular flan with the corners snipped off, and some features of obverse crown and sceptres, and reverse crowned harp dividing C R visible; the second, countermarked on reverse with castle over K within shield, only the outline of the shield countermark visible, with traces of the inner beaded circle and D G visible on obverse; the third, countermarked on reverse with a rosette of five castles, obverse struck off-centre with the A of CAROLVS and BR of BRI. visible, traces of harp and inner beaded circle visible on reverse; 3.09g; 3.09g; 3.12g, (DF 266; S.6555; 6563A; 6563B) first double-struck badly on obverse, fair; second, countermark poor, host poor; third, countermark very good, host fair (3)
