Ireland, John, as King (1199-1216), Third Coinage, Pennies, c. 1208-1212, Dublin (3), Roberd, IOHANNES REX, crowned facing bust holding sceptre with rose to right in triangle, rev. ROBERD ON DIVE, whorl over crescent with three stars in triangle, crosses on vertices and over each part of inscription, 1.45g, 8h (S.6228), portait weak, otherwise fine; additionally, Round Halfpenny, Roberd, IOHAN REX, as before, rev. ROBERD ON D, cross over crescent with three stars in triangle, 0.65g (S.6231), light porosity, otherwise cabinet toned, almost very fine; lastly, Round Farthing, Dublin, Willem, IOHAN [ ], crowned facing bust with stars each side in triangle, rev. W[I]LLEM ON D, whorl in triangle, 0.32g, 7h (Withers, Irish Small Silver, reverse unrecorded; S.6234), largely flat and chipped, otherwise toned, good to fair, scarce and with collector's ticket stating: 'believed only the fourth recorded in private hands' (3)
