Plantagenet Lords of Ireland, Prince John (1177-1199), Second Coinage, Round Halfpennies, c. 1185-1208, Type IIa, Dublin (2), Willelm, + IOHANNES DOM, Ns retrograde, crude diademed head facing, rev. WILLELM ON DV, N retrograde, voided cross pommée with annulets in angles, 0.76g, 6h (O'Sullivan [1964], dies 1/1 [Willelm]; S.6213), some carbonisation to reverse, otherwise a softer striking, with pleasing cabinet toning, a really bold fine to almost very fine, a very rare type with only two known dies; another, Tomas, + IOHANNE[S DOMI], Ns retrograde, as before, rev. + TOMAS ON DVVE, N retrograde, as before, 0.69g, 8h (O'Sullivan [1964], dies 3/5 [Tomas]; S.6213), some horn silver and waterwear, otherwise lightly toned, a really bold fine (2)
