Plantagenet Lords of Ireland, Prince John (1177-1199), Second Coinage, Round Halfpenny, c. 1185-1208, Type Ia, Dublin, Norman, + IOHA[NNES DO]MINI, pellet bar in final N, diademed head facing with half sidecurls, rev. + NORMAN ON DW, voided cross potent with annulets in angles, pellet in the first, second and third angles, 0.72g, 5h (O'Sullivan [1964], dies O2/- [Norman/-]; DF 37; S.6204), die capping to peripheries, otherwise rich cabinet tone accentuating uniform central strike, good very fine and truly much as issued, these dies amongst the first employed for the coinage
