Hiberno-Norse (c. 1035-1060), Phase III, Penny, Dublin, in the style of an Æthelred II Long Cross Penny, stylised legend, draped bust left, five-fingered hand on neck, trio of pellets before mouth, rev. stylised legend, voided long cross, stylised hand in first and fourth quarters, 0.95g, 8h (SCBI 8 [British Museum] -; SCBI 32 [Ulster Museum], 254; SCBI 22 [Copenhagen] -; S.6131), on a neat round flan, with a clearly struck portrait, toned, a pleasing very fine, an evidently extremely rare variety unrepresented in the major institutional collections
