Hiberno-Norse, Sitric II "Silkbeard" Olafsson (c. 995-1036), Phase II, Penny, c. 1020-1035, Dublin, Færemin, in the style of an Æthelred II Long Cross Penny, +IN+R[IC]RE+IIFIN, draped bust left, pellet before nose, cross pommée behind head, rev. [+ F]AEIRNEIN [NO] IEIT, voided long cross, single pellet in each quarter, 0.91g (SCBI 8 [British Museum] 70-80; cf. SCBI 32 [Ulster Museum] 90; DF 23; S.6125), struck from rusty dies on a lightweight flan, with light scratches to bust, toned, almost very fine
