Hiberno-Norse, Sitric II "Silkbeard" Olafsson (c. 995-1036), Phase II, Penny, c. 1020-1035, Dublin, Færemin, in the style of an Æthelred II Long Cross Penny, + HNTRERH + NFI, blundered legend, draped bust left, pellet before nose, deleted symbol behind head, rev. + FEIRMEN MO DYFL, semi-blundered legend, voided long cross, single pellet in each quarter, 0.98g, 10h (cf. SCBI 32 [Ulster Museum], 114; DF 23 variety; S.6125), die-capped with resultant softness to parts of legend, the portrait otherwise boldly struck, smoothed area behind bust due to alteration of the die symbol, lightly toned, very fine, extremely rare
