4c. black on deep blue horizontal pair, Types I-II, two large margins, close but clear at right, slightly cut into at top, cancelled by Demerara double-arc d.s. for Sep. 17 1852. Surface rubbing as usually encountered in these delicate stamps, and thinned in the centre, still possessing much of the original colour. A very rare multiple, just five pairs are known in private ownership, being the largest multiple recorded, with four of them having some imperfections. Small (comet) handstamp on the reverse.
