12c. black on indigo, Townsend Type A (Robson Lowe Type B), not initialled, cut to shape with small to good margins all round, lightly cancelled by double-arc d.s. Some usual thinning, otherwise fine and desirable. The rarest shade of the 12 cents, of which only eleven examples are recorded according to Townsend. A highly desirable rarity. S.G. 6II, £14,000.
