This medal was issued to celebrate the state of Britain after the Coronation of William and Mary. The reverse shows Britannia seated on a rock overhung by entwined rose and orange trees which are emblematic of England and Holland. The items held by Britannia symbolise the Protestant religion, justice, plenty and freedom from Catholic oppression.
