(x) NGC AU | William and Mary (1688-1694), 'Royal African Company', Five-Guineas, 1694 over 3 SEXTO, Elephant and Castle, conjoined laureate busts right, E&C below, rev. crowned and garnished shield, raised letter •+• DECVS • ET • TVTAMEN • • ANNO • REGNI • SEXTO •+• upwards on edge, 41.516g [640.69grns], 6h (MCE 143; EGC I, 352 [R4]; S.3423), unfortunate scratches by crown of King's head and contact mark on his cheek, otherwise handsomely lustrous with a hint of cabinet tone, an attractively bold and honest example, almost extremely fine, scarce thus, in NGC Black 'Pallas' holder, fairly graded Almost Uncirculated (Cert. #8534311-013)
