(x) Early Milled Crowns (3) | including, Charles II (1660-1685), Crowns (2); 'Rose' Issue, 1662, first draped and laureate bust right, rose below bust, stop above, rev. stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, eight strings to harp, undated and downwards lettered edge, letters widely spaced, 29.51g, 5h (ESC 15; Bull 339 but with stop after HIB; S.3350), rubbed and lightly toned, strictly good fine; another, 1676 VICESIMO OCTAVO, third bust right, six strings, upwards lettered edge, 29.58g, 6h (ESC 51; Bull 397; S.3358), metal flaw through AT of GRATIA and corresponding area of reverse, otherwise fine or marginally better for strike; lastly, James II (1685-1688), Crown, 1686 SECVNDO, no stops on obverse, first laureate and draped bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, five strings to harp, lettered edge downwards, 29.18g, 6h (Bull 741 five strings not noted; ESC 77; Spink 3406), haymarked and rubbed, otherwise residually lustrous, a bolder fine, the variety scarce and popular (3)
