India, Post-Gupta, Gujarat (8th-10th century), Sasanian-derived Drachms "Gadhaiya Paisa" (17), bust right, derived from that of Sasanian ruler Peroz (13), with Hunnic influence (4), rev. variants on the 'fire altar and two attendants' design, sometimes assigned to the Pratiharas and Chavadas of Gujarat (Deyell 154, 155; MNI 325-334; also catalogued in detail in, K.K. Maheswari, Imitations in Continuity, Tracking the Silver Coinage of Early Medieval India, IIRNS Publications, 2010), visually appealing, selected for variety of design and quality of portrait, fine to good very fine, most with tickets referencing Maheswari listing, rarely offered and intriguing (17)
