(x) William I 'the Conqueror' (1066-1087), 'PAXS' Type, Penny, 1086-1087, Lincoln, Ulf, + PILLELM REX, draped bust facing, crowned (double arched with lower arch in single line) and diademed, sceptre right within inner circle, rev. + VLF ON LINCOLNE, cross pattée, in each angle an annulet containing one letter of the word PAXS, within inner circle, 1.39g [21.45grns], 12h (SCBI 24 [West Country], 796 same dies; SCBI 27 [Lincolnshire] 875 same dies, 876 same obverse die; SCBI 42 [South Eastern]. 1830; North 849; BMC VIII; S.1257), legend weakly struck in parts, with a darker cabinet tone, struck details very fine and always attractive with a full mint signature
