John H. Allen entered the war in Gallipoli on 16 August 1915. Unusually, he has two separate M.I.C.s, one for the Star and the other for the British War and Victory medals. He was disembodied on 28 March 1919 and received his Territorial Force Efficiency Medal on 1 May 1919 (Army Order 178).
