Edgar H. Cree disembarked in Western Europe on 15 November 1915. He first served in the Great War as a Private with the Royal Fusiliers under service number 2025, but later transferred to the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) with service number 35201. Cree is noted to have been appointed Commander on 26 April 1918.

Jack Cree served in the Royal Naval Reserve throughout World War II, appearing on The Navy List from 1939 until 1945.
