Percy Charles London was born at Rotherhithe, London in November 1876. He joined the Royal Navy as an Engine Room Artificer 4th Class in October 1899, and advanced to Chief Engine Room Artificer 1st Class in May 1916.

He was serving on Mandate at the Battle of Jutland which was screening the Battle Fleet as one of the 14 M-class destroyers of the Eleventh Destroyer Flotilla. London was commissioned Artificer Engineer in April 1917. Service included with H.M. Ships Iphigenia and Shelldrake. He was placed on the retired list medically unfit on 12 July 1922; sold together with copied service papers.
