George Harold Voisey was born circa 1898 at Chatham, Kent, the son of Farrier Sergeant G. Voisey of the 3rd Hussars and his wife Delia, who later lived at Bourne End, Buckinghamshire. Voisey enlisted with the Royal Artillery at Wellington, Salop, and entered the war in France on 27 September 1914 as a Trumpeter with the 94th Battery,18th Brigade Royal Field Artillery. He was later advanced Gunner, and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission records him as a Bombardier - though this has not been confirmed in his military records. Voisey was serving in Belgium when he received wounds in battle, of which died on 3 June 1916. He was interred at the Bedford House Cemetery in Ypres, Belgium and his mother claimed the rest of his pension after her son's death, he is further entitled to a clasp to his 1914 Star; sold together with copied records.
