(x) Queen's Mediterranean 1899-1902 (7526 Serjt: W. Machin. Yorks: L.I.), lightly toned, very fine

Walter Machin was born at Middlesborough and was a spring forger prior to joining the Army. He joined the 3rd Battalion Yorkshire Light Infantry on 25 August 1900 and was promoted to Corporal on 11 May 1901. He served in Malta between 19 June 1901 and 7 March 1902, during this time he was promoted to Sergeant on 6 December 1901. Machin was discharged on 22 April 1906.
