Territorial Force Efficiency Medal, E.VII.R. (229 Pte H. Leach. 4/R.Berks:Regi), good very fine

Herbert Leach was born in 1875 in Blewbury, Berkshire and enlisted in the 1st Volunteer Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment in 1897, later being awarded the Territorial Force Efficiency Medal in 1909. He attested for service as a Private with the 4th Royal Berkshire Regiment in 1914, but was discharged the next year as he was unlikely to become an efficient officer owing to health conditions. Leach died in 1955 at St. Mary's Hospital, Wallingford, Berkshire; sold together with copied research.
